Translations after my easy Finnish novels ad:
"Read an easy Finnish book. It helps you learn more Finnish. |
- kdellinen - a primate
- kdetn - handless, powerless
- ksi - a hand (Sometimes it can also mean incompetent such as in sentence M oon ihan ksi tietokoneiden kanssa. - I clueless with computers. Two hands is obviously kaksi ktt.)
- ksi kdess - hand in hand
- ksijarru - a hand brake
- ksin - by hands
- ksine - a glove (Hanska is maybe more common.)
- ksitell - to handle
- ksitt - to comprehend, to cover some topic
- ksittmtn - incomprehensible
- ksity - handcraft
- ksitylinen - an artesan
- ktell - to shake hands
- ktev - handy
Any vulgar expressions with ksi? Well, of course. Its Ved kteen, which suggests that the other person should masturbate. Heres a link to a classic "Ved ktees" Fingerpori comic strip explained. Ive also heard an urban legend of a Finnish pop star who asked a fan "Kirjoitanko paperille vai vednk kteen?" when signing autographs. (Vet means to pull, but in colloquial Finnish, it can surprisingly replace almost any verb but olla. In this one, it would mean the same as kirjoittaa.)
